Barbara Hanson, 70, Duluth

Barbara Ann Hanson, 70, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, in Duluth, of natural causes. She was born May 2, 1942, to Harold and Minnie Butler.

Barbara had worked for Slifka Sales and Miami Margarine in Albert Lea prior to retiring. She most recently lived in Springbrook, Wis., where she was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, working in the yard and her two dogs, Charlie and Spike. They were always together. She also enjoyed traveling across the United States on many occasions with her husband, Bill.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-son.

Barbara is survived by her husband Willis “Bill” Hanson of Springbrook, Wis.; children: Susan VanRyswyk (Brad) of Alden, Ken Thompson (Lori) Chisago City, Cindy VanRyswyk (Greg) of Albert Lea and Christine Campbell (Tom) of Arvada, Colo.; grandchildren: Grant VanRyswyk, Amanda VanRyswyk, Krystal Gravelle (Bryan), Kimberly Thompson, Courtney Thompson, Brody VanRyswyk, Brice Greiner and Nicholas Hanson; four great-grandchildren; sisters: Shirley Hanson (Paul) and Darlene Engel (Gene); and brothers: Earl Butler and Charles Butler (Linda).

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 S. Washington Ave., Albert Lea.
