Man arrested for domestic assault

A 44-year-old Albert Lea man was arrested early this morning after he reportedly held a utility knife to his brother’s throat.

According to police, Faustino Moreno Jr. was arrested for domestic assault and obstructing justice after police received a call at 12:31 a.m. today of the alleged incident at 327 Winter Ave.

Moreno was reportedly subdued twice with a Taser. He was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea to be checked out after complaining of a heart condition.

 Items stolen from vehicles in Glenville

A wallet was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at 511 First Ave. SW, Glenville, at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.

An iPod was reported taken out of a vehicle parked in the driveway at 501 First Ave. SW, Glenville, at 12:54 p.m. Thursday, the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office stated.

 House broken into

A house at 72362 280th St., Albert Lea, was reported broken into at 11:20 p.m. Thursday, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.

 Teenagers shooting paintballs at vehicles

Two people were reported shooting paintballs at vehicles near the intersection of West Clark Street and Minnesota Highway 13 at 6:27 p.m. Thursday. According to Albert Lea police, Eduardo Flores, 18, and one juvenile were cited for disorderly conduct.

 Window pried open

A window was reported pried open at the former Progress Casting building, 1521 E. Hawthorne St., at 7:42 p.m. Thursday, according to Albert Lea police.
