Man injured in sideswipe crash Saturday

A 34-year-old man was injured Saturday after the vehicle he was riding in was sideswiped by another vehicle that was changing lanes on Interstate 35 in Worth County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Pompillo Nunez Escobar was transported by Lake Mills Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries that were not incapacitating. The report did not state where Escobar was from.

The report states Duane Scott Woebbeking, 53, of Gladbrook, Iowa, was driving a 2004 GMC Yukon south near milemarker 213 when he attempted to change into the left lane and sideswiped a 2013 Ford Mustang.

The Mustang was driven by 50-year-old Abram R. Chrada of Minneapolis. Escobar was his passenger. Woebbeking and Chrada were not injured. Woebbeking was cited for improper lane usage. Chrada was cited for no driver’s license.

The incident reportedly took place at about 2:40 p.m.
