Freeborn County commissioners met in closed session Tuesday to discuss an internal investigation into one of the Freeborn County jail administrators.

Jail Administrator Marcelino Peña, who has worked for the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office since 2004, has been on paid administrative leave since July 23.

Freeborn County Administrator John Kluever said the commissioners discussed placing Peña on unpaid administrative leave.

No action has yet been taken.
