Downtown festival was a big success

Published 9:50 am Friday, September 7, 2012

While the two Wind Down Wednesday summer festivals have come and gone for 2012, the positive response for this new event in downtown Albert Lea has been overwhelming. The WDW team would like to thank all the vendors (food, beverage, craft, artisan) for the wonderful response we had for our first season.

Whether it was gyros, chicken wings, pulled pork, tacos, nachos, brats, burgers or sno-cones, the food was fantastic on the streets along with the drinks. The live entertainment on both stages was truly amazing! We are so fortunate to have had such wonderful bands come to Albert Lea. The craft and artisan vendors had great products that were truly awesome and unique!

Most of all we would like to thank everyone who attended the event. Whether you came from Freeborn, Faribault or Mower counties, this event wouldn’t have been a success without you! If you came to listen to music, buy a craft, eat lunch and/or supper on the street, or just hang with your friends and family, we sincerely thank you for participating in this event. We are encouraged by its success and look forward to WDW continuing to grow in our community. It was so wonderful to see so many people of all ages come to the event.
