Single-lane traffic on Minnesota Highway 30 in Steel County between Interstate 35 and Highway 218 began Monday, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The lane closures are necessary as crews resurface the road and conduct culvert repairs, a MnDOT news release states.

A pilot car with flaggers will control traffic throughout the project, which is scheduled to continue through late September, weather permitting.

When the project is complete, motorists will experience a smoother ride surface and a safer highway, MnDOT says.
