New services at Mayo Clinic Health System’s Pharmacy

The retail pharmacy at Mayo Clinic Health System has implemented new services to benefit customers: email notifications, pagers and online prescription refills.

With signed consent the pharmacy will email customers when their prescription is ready for pick up. Patients 18 and older can sign up for this service by completing the consent form available at the pharmacy or online at mayoclinichealthsystem.org/locations/albert-lea. Customers must notify the pharmacy in writing if you ever wish to cancel your subscription to this service.

Pagers are available to customers waiting to pick up their prescription. These small hand-held devices, similar to pagers used in restaurants, vibrate and flash when prescriptions are ready. The pagers work throughout the medical center allowing people the comfort of spending their short wait time at the Mayo Clinic store, gift shop, coffee shop, cafeteria, or clinic and hospital floors.

People can now refill up to six prescriptions at a time online at mayoclinichealthsystem.org/locations/albert-lea, and choose to have them hand delivered within Albert Lea city limits or available for pick up in the pharmacy. Customers can pay for prescriptions when they pick them up or can call the pharmacy at 373-7952, and pay with a credit card over the phone. Existing prescriptions from another pharmacy can be transferred as well.

The pharmacy is open weekdays 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and weekends and holidays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
