Woman injured after turkey crashes into vehicle

A 66-year-old Bricelyn woman was injured Monday evening after a wild turkey reportedly struck her car window on Interstate 35 north of Geneva.
According to police, Mary L. Haukoos was transported by Ellendale ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for facial injuries sustained by the incident. The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
A spokeswoman with the hospital stated Haukoos was treated and released.
The Minnesota State Patrol stated Haukoos was riding in a 2003 Honda Civic LX near milepost 21. Her husband Ronald Haukoos, 72, also of Bricelyn, was driving.
The incident reportedly took place at 6:13 p.m.
Tires stolenĀ
Tires were reported stolen off of a vehicle overnight Monday at 1406 Frank Hall Drive, according to police. The incident was reported at 7:09 a.m. Tuesday.
Windshield smashed
A vehicle windshield at 410 1/2 Pillsbury Ave. was reported smashed out at 8:32 a.m. Tuesday, according to police.
Jewelry stolen
Jewelry was reported stolen from a residence at 918 Valley Ave. at 4:57 p.m. Tuesday, according to police. It was reportedly stolen sometime in the last week.
