Woman injured after turkey crashes into vehicle

A 66-year-old Bricelyn woman was injured Monday evening after a wild turkey reportedly struck her car window on Interstate 35 north of Geneva.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Mary L. Haukoos was transported by Ellendale ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for facial injuries sustained by the incident. The injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
The State Patrol indicated Haukoos was the passenger in a 2003 Honda Civic LX. Her husband Ronald Haukoos, 72, also of Bricelyn, was the driver.
The incident reportedly took place at 6:13 p.m. near milepost 21.
