“Marty” Martha Reindal, 86, Lake Mills

“Marty” Martha F. Reindal, 86, of Lake Mills, formerly of Scarville, Iowa, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Scarville, Iowa, with the Rev. Randy Baldwin officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Scarville. Visitation for Marty will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 105 East 3rd Street in Scarville, Iowa, and will continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City.

Martha Frances (Buckner) Reindal was born April 14, 1926, in Snyder, Okla., the daughter of Samuel Scott and Alma (Bonham) Buckner as the oldest of 13 children. She attended country school in Oklahoma and there she completed eighth grade. The family then moved to Texas where she graduated from St. Joe High School in 1943.

On Jan. 6, 1946, she was united in marriage to Russel Oliver Reindal in San Antonio, Texas. Together, they farmed in the Scarville area until 1995. Marty loved painting, gardening, bowling, dominos, Yahtzee and crossword puzzles. Marty was very close to her family and loved spending time with them.

She is survived by her three daughters: Susan and her husband, Donald Ostrander, of Lake Mills, Angela and her husband, Martin Shaw, of Scarville, Iowa, and Jayne and her husband, Jeffrey Miller, of Derby, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Sarah Heath, Jeremy (Andrea) Ostrander, Nathan (Chelsey) Ostrander, Alyssa (Andrew) Hanna, Miranda (fiancé-Ricky Botton), Torren and Tristen Miller; six great-grandchildren: Rylan and Karissa Heath, Hudson, Logan and Chloe Ostrander and Hayden Ostrander; her siblings: Buddy Buckner, Bill Buckner, Beverly Hicks, Dean Buckner, Ann Hodges, Sandy Gorell, Sammy Buckner, Gary Buckner and Jake Buckner.

Marty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Russel in 2001; son Gregory in 1993; grandson Brandon in 2003; and her siblings: Louise, Jay and Wilma.
