Rose LaCore, 61, Hollandale

Memorial services for Rose Mary LaCore of Hollandale, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service.

Rose died on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at St Marys Hospital in Rochester. She was 61 years of age.

Rose was born May 16, 1951, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Nels and Dorothy (Houchin) Oquist. She attended Albert Lea public school and the Alexandria Tech College with a degree in food service. Rose had been a member of the Grace Christian Church in Albert Lea and had been employed by New Horizons Food Service at the Gerard Schools in Austin, and Rochester. She also had worked for Johnson Floral for many years.

Rose enjoyed cooking, artistic painting and was very creative. At one time she also had several recipes published.

Rose is survived by her past husband Dennis LaCore, daughters Dawn LaCore Beck (Michael) of Rochester, Lisa LaCore Wierick (Mikel) of Casey, Iowa, grandchildren Laurel Beck, Jessica Beck, Ashlyn Olson, Derek Olson, Mackenna Wierick and Austin Wierick. Surviving brothers and sisters include: Harold (Eddie) Oquist of Bowling Green, Ky., Betty Crose of Gregory, S.D., Larry (Bonnie) Dahl of Litchfield, James Grumke of Alhambra, Calif., Russell Forsythe of Minneapolis, Mary Quam of Minneapolis, Shirley Christian of Hartland, and Patrick Oquist of Albert Lea.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brothers Lloyd, David and Dennis, and sisters Janet and Alice.
