Tracy died on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea after a long struggle with pancreatic cancer. She was a very strong woman.

Tracy Rochelle Hemenway was born on Oct. 23, 1969, in Colorado Springs, Colo., the daughter of Harlan and Carol (Steinhauer) Nienoord. She moved to Albert Lea as a young girl and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1987. Tracy worked at various jobs. She was a nursing assistant at Good Samaritan Society and Thorne Crest Retirement Community, she worked with disabled people at Cedar Valley and Elm Homes and bartended. She was married to Ray Hemenway Jr. and later divorced. Tracy enjoyed walking around the lake and socializing. She had many friends she loved dearly. Blessed be her memory.

Survivors include her father, Harlan Nienoord of Arizona, her sister Ranae (Chris) Frerichs of Emmons, nephews Tyler Hall and special friend Ashley Cole of Albert Lea and Cody Hall of Albert Lea, great-nephew Tyler Vochell-Hall, a few cousins, and special friends Shawn, Tim, Al, Johnny, and Lisa.

Tracy was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Larson, and a special great-aunt, Waive Schiliching.
