The United Methodist Women met Oct. 3 with a musical selection by Merle Stensrud.

Judy Kary, of Mary-Grace Circle, introduced Chris Avery, coordinator for the Red Cross in Freeborn and Mower Counties. She told of ways people can prepare for various disasters.

The meeting was opened by president, Marty Beckmann. Reports followed with the secretary’s report from JoAnn Seuser, and the treasurer’s report from Ruth Vermedahl. Spiritual Growth chairwoman, Adean Turner, gave a scripture reading from Exodus and a reading about children.

Judy Kary, chairwoman of Education and Interpretation, told of other United Methodist Women Units doing various projects as mission fundraisers. Church Women United representative Lea Netting informed members of World Community Day that was held at First Presbyterian Church on Nov. 2.

Judy Hargrave read a list of items that are needed by the Emma Norton Home. This list will be included in the circle’s agenda.

Various cards were sent by Rose Hood, Sunshine chairwoman.
