Q: What sports are you involved in?
A: Volleyball, basketball and softball.

Q: What numbers are you?
A: No. 5 in volleyball, No. 00 in basketball and in softball No. 3. My volleyball and softball numbers were randomly assigned to me, but No. 00 is because of ground zero. My coach thought it fit me because I’m on the ground a lot when I play basketball.

Q: How did you get started in volleyball?
A: It was offered as a sport, and I had nothing better to do when I was younger so I joined it. I’ve been playing since the fifth grade.

Q: How did you get started in basketball?
A: My two best friends were in it, and I grew up with the boys in the neighborhood so I’ve learned to play a lot of sports with boys. I’ve been playing basketball since third grade.

Q: How did you get started in softball?
A: I played baseball growing up because we didn’t have softball. So, in the seventh grade I joined in the softball at school.

Q: What other extracurricular activities are you involved in?
A: I am in choir, student council, National Honor Society, prom committee, class representatives, my church youth group. And, I’m on a missions committee.

Q: Did your parents play sports when they were younger?
A: My dad was in football, and my mom was in volleyball, basketball and track.

Q: Do you have siblings that play or have played any sports?
A: Three of my older siblings do. Samuel plays football in college, Anna plays volleyball, basketball and softball. My younger brother Benjamin plays football and basketball.

Q: What are your sports-related achievements?
A: I’ve been named Most Improved in basketball and softball. I’ve been Hardest Worker in basketball and volleyball. I made Gopher Conference last year in softball and I played at the state tournament last year for basketball when we placed third.

Q: What are your sports-related goals?
A: I would like to see my team make it to state again this year in basketball, and I would like to average six points per game. For softball, I would like to make the Gopher Conference again and improve overall. And, in volleyball, I would like to become an all around player and help my team win more and be more successful.

Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete? Why?
A: Mia Moore. She is an all around team player, she’s a Christian and she has good sportsmanship even when others don’t.

Q: What is your favorite school subject?
A: Math. It comes easy to me and I understand everything. It also brings challenges sometimes and I like to solve challenges.

Q: Who is your favorite teacher?
A: That’s a toughie. I’d say Jennifer Hatton my science teacher and Deb Bentley, my English teacher. They make class interesting and easy to pay attention, but they also connect to students and give you a better chance to understand things. They also bring fun to the classroom which I find is important to high schoolers.

Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Other than sports I like to babysit my nephews, hang out with my boyfriend and my family, and I like eating food and watching TV. I also like going to my church youth group at Vibrant Life Assembly of God in Ellendale.

Q: What is your dream job?
A: To be a missionary in Africa and to be a math teacher. Whenever I hear of Africa, I feel a certain closeness to it. There’s something about it that touches my heart.

Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?
A: I like “Spongebob Squarepants”, “Full House” and “Pretty Little Liars.”

Q: What is your favorite food?
A: My favorite food is pickels, chili or bread.

Q: What is an interesting fact about you?
A: I have an obsession with ketchup. I eat a lot of things with ketchup as a side to dunk things in. I eat ketchup with nacho cheese Doritos, on my honey barbecue wings and usually just an overdose of ketchup on everything else.
