APPLETON, Wis. — Three women have been arrested in connection with the 2007 shooting death of a Wisconsin woman, including the victim’s domestic partner who was previously charged with paying someone to beat her up, sheriff’s officials said Friday.
Lara Plamann, 30, died from a single gunshot wound to the head while seated in a chair in a shed on the Greenville property she shared with Dianna Siveny, one the three people taken into custody. The other two arrested were a 34-year-old woman and a 38-year-old woman who both live in St. Paul, Outagamie County sheriff’s officials said.
Sheriff’s Capt. Michael Jobe said he expected charges to be filed soon and that Siveny would make an initial appearance in court Monday. Jobe declined to comment on a motive for the shooting.
A phone message and email sent to Outagamie County District Attorney Carrie Schneider was not immediately returned.
Siveny, 53, who now lives in Appleton, had been charged in 2010 with paying someone to beat Plamann a year before Plamann died. The attack wasn’t carried out, and charges were dropped.
Court documents alleged Siveny was upset that Plamann was seeing another woman.
After Plamann’s October 2007 death, investigators spent five days searching the property where her body was found in Greenville, about 110 miles north of Milwaukee. They seized ammunition, three computers, a cellphone and other items, according to court documents.
Plamann’s family said they were pleased to learn about the arrests, and they thanked officials for their hard work.
“The 5 years since Lara’s death have passed quickly, but also felt like an eternity with no real positive news until now,” the family said in a statement Friday. “We’ve had our own theories as to what took place that evening, and these arrests have confirmed some of our suspicions.”
