Rosie J. Meyer, 92, Lake Mills

Rosie J. Meyer, 92, of Lake Mills, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at the Lake Mills Care Center in Lake Mills.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, with the Rev. David E. Jordon officiating. Burial will be in Salem Memorial Cemetery, rural Lake Mills.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church on Monday.

Rosie (Seher) Meyer was born on Dec. 31, 1920, in Streeter, N.D., to Peter and Carolina (Seidel) Seher. She was the eighth of 11 children. She grew up in Streeter and graduated from Streeter High School in 1940.

On May 29, 1941, Rosie was united in marriage with Veryl Meyer in Gackle, N.D. To this union, three children were born.

Rosie and Veryl owned and operated the Scarville Food Market in Scarville, Iowa, and later the Lake Mills Locker.

In her spare time, Rosie enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter Ginger (Paul) Nelson of Mantorville; son Kim (Julie) Meyer of Glenville; and grandchildren, Jeremy Nelson and his daughter Cassandra, Logan Meyer, Levi Meyer and Isabella Meyer. Also surviving are very special friends, Ole and Sharon Rosen of Scarville; a sister, Leona Muller of Lodi, Calif.; along with other relatives and friends.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Veryl on July 4, 2009; a son in infancy; sisters; brothers; and in-laws.

Rosie loved being with friends and family, and will be missed greatly.
