The United Methodist Women met Feb. 6, opening with a piano selection by Merle Stensrud.
The program on prayer and self-denial was presented by Judy Kary, Lea Nolting, Gerry Horswell and Fern Urbatsch of Mary Grace Circle. President Gerry Horswell opened the meeting, thanking Martha Circle for the brunch and Mary Grace Circle for the program.
JoAnn Seuser gave the secretary’s report, and Urbatsch, the treasurer’s report. Adean Turner, spiritual growth chairwoman, read selected scripture on love. A report on United Methodist Women Sunday was given by Marcia Moyer.
Nolting, Church Women United representative, reported that Church Women United will disband. There will be two scholarships given this year, and the balance left over will be given to local charities. Judy Hargrave has made a delivery of supplies to the Emma Norton Home. Hargrave also reported that the office of vice president still needs to be filled.
The next meeting is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday, with coffee at 9:30 a.m. Serving will be Hope Circle and the program will be by Just Three Circle.
