Albert Lea police responded to a report of a car that reportedly backed into school bus Tuesday afternoon near the intersection of South Broadway and West Seventh Street.

According to police, the bus was making a turn near the intersection at 3:19 p.m. when a two-door 1997 Honda hatchback, driven by Cody Aleck Olson, 18, reportedly backed out of a driveway into the bus.

The bus received damage to its front right bumper, and the car received damage to its rear bumper.

Police stated the children on board were transferred to another bus.

Albert Lea Police Lt. J.D. Carlson said one child reportedly had a bloody nose, but it is unclear whether that was related to the crash.

Steve Allen Johnson, 60, was listed as the driver of the bus.
