Power appears to have been restored at about 11 p.m.

Electricity appeared to be out in the central part of Albert Lea, including much of the downtown, as far east as McDonald’s and Domino’s Pizza, and as far south as the Tribune.

It is unclear if the outages went beyond that area.

Albert Lea Police Lt. Darin Palmer said officials had to wait for a journeyman to arrive from Mason City to address the issue.

He said the company lost a piece of insulation on part of its equipment that ultimately led to the outage.

Look to the Tribune for more information as it becomes available.
