Semi rolls into a semi

A semi rolled into another one Thursday on East Main Street in Albert Lea, according to police reports. No one sustained an injury.

One was driven by Douglas Allen Eckles, 52, of Iowa, and the other by Gary S. Brashier, 58. Reports state the crash happened at 1:47 p.m. at 2751 E. Main St., which is Love’s truck stop near Exit 11 of Interstate 35.

 

Trucker arrested for trespassing

Truck driver Perry Richard Johnson, 57, was arrested on allegations of trespassing and obstruction of justice at Love’s truck stop. The incident was called to authorities at 5:34 p.m. Friday. The police report says the trucking company was having problems with Johnson and says the Love’s manager wanted him to leave.

 

BB gun fired

A cream-colored Ford Taurus pulled up to a fisherman at the channel near Frank Avenue and East Front Street at 9:07 p.m. Friday, and someone in the car fired a BB gun at the man, according to an Albert Lea police report.

 

A mess at Snyder Field?

A man reported witnessing a man in the bathroom at Snyder Field making a mess Friday morning, even lighting the toilet paper on fire. Police found no damage.

 

Church trailer broken into

Criminal damaged was reported when the trailer belonging to Grace Christian Church was reportedly broken into. The Rev. George Marin, a member of the Albert Lea City Council, called in the complaint at 8:59 a.m. Friday.

 

Children caught shoplifting

Police apprehended a child Friday after school who is in seventh or eighth grade for reportedly shoplifting at Korner Mart, 1311 W. Front St. The child was dropped off with parents, reports state. It did not say which gender.

Also, later the same day, two girls were taken into custody for shoplifting at Walmart.

 

Grown-ups allegedly shoplifting

Albert Lea police arrested Abby Lee Tripp, 32, for alleged theft from Maurices at Northbridge Mall. She was transported to jail, reports state. The theft was reported at 5:27 p.m. Monday.

 

Man arrested at courthouse

Jose Antonio Soto, 28, was arrested for alleged domestic assault at 411 S. Broadway, the Freeborn County Courthouse, at 7:13 p.m. Monday. The police report gave no further details, except to say the violence is an ongoing issue.

 

Damage reported in Clarks Grove

Machinery was reported damaged at 9:39 a.m. Tuesday at 201 W. Main St. in Clarks Grove, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.

Trucks and a building at 108 N. Independence Ave. in Clarks Grove were reported tampered with sometime over the weekend, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office. The incident was reported at 12:36 p.m. Tuesday.

 

Window broken out of business

A window in a door at A-Best Sew & Vac, 1201 E. Main St., was reported broken out at 7:54 a.m. Tuesday, according to Albert Lea police.

 

Man cited for marijuana

Albert Lea police cited Nathan Hugo Torres, 19, for driving after revocation, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 1701 W. Main St. at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to reports.
