A suspicious maroon minivan with tinted windows was reported at 2:36 p.m. Tuesday at 902 Abbott St., according to Albert Lea police. Reports indicated the van was driven by a woman with blond hair and sunglasses, and there was a male passenger with short, dark hair. The two people were stopping and asking young children if they wanted a job. Police were not able to locate the vehicle.
In a separate incident, Albert Lea police received a call at 12:49 a.m. today that a woman had been pulled over by a man flashing white lights from his dash near the intersection of Bridge Avenue and Marshall Street. The man was reportedly wearing a brown sweatshirt and jeans and was described as being 5 feet 2 inches tall with a high-pitched voice. Reports stated he did not indicate himself as a police officer but when the woman asked if he was an officer he just replied that she needed to slow down.
