Albert Lea man injured in crash

A 20-year-old Albert Lea man was flown by Mayo One helicopter to St. Marys Hospital this morning after he reportedly crashed his car into several trees in southern Albert Lea.
According to police, Alek Robert Haldorson-Struck was driving southbound on Southshore Drive in a Mazda RX-8 when he approached a curve in the road, went straight off the road and into trees near the intersection with Bayview South Knoll Road.
He was trapped in the car and had to be extricated by Albert Lea firefighters.
Police stated the Mayo One helicopter landed at St. Nicholas Park, and Haldorson-Struck was flown out from the park.
His condition this morning is unknown.
Albert Lea Police Department Lt. Darren Hansen said alcohol was suspected.
