I read a short article in your May 31 issue about police responding to situations in which individuals were suicidal.

Your reporter described one of the incidents as “successful.” I wonder if perhaps a more apt description could be that the suicide was “completed.” It certainly stretches the popular definition of “success” to die by one’s own hand.
