Rachel Knudson will be the speaker for the Dorothy Godtland Lecture series at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Albert Lea Art Center. Knudson will share her passion about midwifery and the reasons couples choose birth with a midwife instead of a doctor.

Knudson, the 35-year-old owner of Gentle Hands Midwifery based north of Hartland, has delivered about 100 babies and assisted with about 100 more during an apprenticeship in New Mexico.

A new mother will accompany Knudson and share her recent experience. The lecture is free and open to the public.
