Funeral services for Kevin Edward Benesch, 57, of North Las Vegas, Nev., and formerly of Albert Lea will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Tom Biatek will officiate. Interment will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Kevin died of heat exhaustion on July 3, 2013, in North Las Vegas.

Kevin Edward Benesch was born on March 15, 1956, in Albert Lea, the son of Gordon and Phyllis (Smith) Benesch. He grew up in Albert Lea, was confirmed at the United Methodist Church and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1975. After high school Kevin attended the Albert Lea VoTec where he studied diesel mechanics. He worked as a diesel mechanic many years for the Ford garage and also in Alaska, Washington and Colorado. For the last 10 or so years, Kevin has lived and worked in North Las Vegas. He liked photography and was an excellent fisherman. He also liked spending time in the outdoors, enjoyed wildlife; especially feeding deer. Blessed be his memory.

Survivors include his son, Jeff (Rachel) of Joice, Iowa; granddaughters, Madison and Ava; parents, Phyllis and Gordon Benesch of Albert Lea; brothers, Kenneth (Linda) Benesch of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Keith (Darlene) Benesch of Albert Lea; sisters, Janeen Benesch of Shakopee and Jolene (John) Berg of Northwood; aunts, Marian Martinson of Fontana, Calif., and Mildred Weinand of Richfield; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents and three uncles.
