This year’s Rocking the Block event is coming up fast. Rocking the Block is a collaboration between Shinefest, the United Way of Freeborn County, Habitat for Humanity and the Housing and Redevelopment Authority. The mission of this project is to engage local volunteers to help fix up homes in our community.

The event will begin Aug. 10 and run to Aug. 17. Volunteers are sought to help with projects which will include painting, shingling a roof, repairing siding, installing flooring and various other repairs to the interior and exterior of four residences.
