The Albert Lea Figure Skating Club will hold its annual registration meeting at the City Arena at 7 p.m. Monday, according to a press release.
The club offers several levels of lessons for students age preschool to high school. It also offers opportunities to compete at Midwest events and perform in the club’s annual show.
Figure skating teaches several physical skills, including balance, coordination, endurance and flexibility. It also teaches several life skills such as confidence and poise. Skating can be a life-long passion, whether enjoying it as weekend recreation, pursuing a coaching career or serving as a competition judge.
The Albert Lea club holds lessons, taught by skating professionals, Mondays and Wednesday at the City Arena with extra practice time available. The season runs September through March, ending with the annual show. This season’s show, Home on the Rink, will be held March 22 to 23.
At Monday’s meeting, the club is excited to introduce two new coaches, Lacey Williamson and Anne Sternhagen. Both Williamson and Sternhagen are alumni members of the club and offer significant experience in performing and competing to club members.
For more information, visit the club’s website at www.alfsc.org or call club President Mary Beth Heimendinger at 641-568-3410.
