Gary John Arneson of Canton, Ga., died on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013.

Gary was born on July 2, 1934, in Albert Lea, to the late Teckland and Mary (Kippen) Arneson.

Gary graduated from Albert Lea Central High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955. Gary was united in marriage to Bernadette “Bonnie” Higgins on June 16, 1962. He was a loving husband and father to his wife and three children, Mark (Melinda) of Alpharetta, Ga., Paul (Kristy) and Jay (Jennifer), both of Marietta, Ga., who all survived him. He is also survived by brother, Ivan (Cally) of Ocala, Fla.; sister, Sandy (John) Roscoe of Remer; several brothers and sisters-in-law; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; father and mother-in-law Bernard and Virginia Higgins.

Gary’s professional career includes 17 years with Streater Fixture Co. and 18 years with Abrams Fixture Co.

Gary enjoyed playing golf, spending time with family and was an avid Braves fan.
