A house at 207 S. Fifth Ave. was damaged Thursday evening after a reported accidental stove fire, according to Albert Lea Fire Department Lt. Mark Light.

Four people who were in the single-family home exited safely. Firefighters were called to the house at about 6:20 p.m.

Light said when firefighters arrived there were flames in the kitchen. He said most of the damage was confined to the kitchen, though there was smoke damage for much of the first floor.

The fire remains under investigation.
