Memorial services for John Sydnes, 91, of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by local servicemen’s organization, VFW and American Legion. John died on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

John N. Sydnes was born on April 28, 1922, in Scarville, Iowa, the son of Tom T. and Emma (Severson) Sydnes. John was united in marriage to Dorothy Johnson on Sept. 16, 1944. John worked as the Plant Manager of Parten Manufacturing in Minneapolis for 42 years. He was a veteran in the Army.

Survivors include his nephews and nieces; and great-nephews and nieces.

John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy; and brothers, Irving, Earl, LeRoy and Ted.

John will be greatly missed by friends and relatives.
