Horejsi, a sophomore, also won the 100-yard butterfly by more than five seconds.

Fellow sophomore Anna Anderson also won two events: the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle.

“Anna did a great job,” Albert Lea head coach Jon Schmitz said. “Our coaching staff decided she was our swimmer of the meet.”

Also winning individual events were Sara Rasmussen in the 50-yard freestyle, Bailey Sandon in the 100-yard backstroke and Samantha Nielsen in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Emily Taylor finished less than three seconds behind Nielsen in the 100-yeard breaststroke.

“Some of our young kids stepped up,” Schmitz said. “Emily is just a seventh grader, and she’s really talented. It’s exciting.”

Next, Albert Lea will host Owatonna at 6 p.m. on Sept. 5.
