Douglas “Doug” Scott Paulsen of Vancouver, Wash., died at the age of 72 on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013.
He was born in Austin on Nov. 20, 1940, the oldest of seven children.
Doug served in the Army and later moved to Vancouver in 1971 where he worked for NW Natural Gas. He loved the outdoors, was a coach and a fan of many sports.
Doug is survived by his wife of 49 years (June 27, 1964), Dorothy; son, Scott (Donalyn); daughter, Heather Mairs (Tad); five grandchildren, Zachariah and Micah Paulsen and Ty, Parker and Kendall Mairs; two brothers, Fritz and Kevin; and four sisters, Vicki, Debbie, Pam and Margaret Ann.
Preceding him are his parents, Fred and Ruth Paulsen; and two twin granddaughters, Marissa Sue and Lily Ruth Paulsen.
Doug will be remembered for his strength, kindness and love and dedication to his family.
