Q: What year are you in school?

A: Senior.

Q: What school do you attend?

A: Albert Lea High School.

Q: Who is your immediate family?

A: Cindy and David are my parents, and I have a little brother, Dakota, 14.

Q: What sports are you involved in?

A: I run distance in track.

Q: What is your favorite part of competing in cross country?

A: Practice. I have a lot of fun with my teammates when we go out, and I’ve made a lot of friends. It’s an adventure.

Q: What has being on the cross country team taught you?

A: I feel like I have more patience because of running so many miles.

Q: How did you get started in cross country?

A: I played golf, hockey and soccer when I was younger, so I didn’t have room in my schedule for running. But, I had a lot of injuries and they drew me away from those sports. So I just tried running, and I really like it now.

Q: What sports did your family members play?

A: My brother played hockey, and he’s going to try out for wrestling this year. My parents didn’t play sports in high school.

Q: What are your sports-related achievements? 

A: I was the only letter-winner last year who was a boy in cross country, and I was All-Conference.

Q: What are your college plans? 

A: I haven’t decided where I want to go, but I want to major in pre-med to be a physician that specializes in bones.

Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete?

A: Ryan Hall. He’s a marathon runner.

Q: What is your favorite school subject? 

A: Spanish.

Q: Who is your favorite teacher? 

A: James Haney, our cross country coach. He teaches social studies.

Q: What are your hobbies? 

A: Disc golf, frisbee and paintball. The closest paintball course is at Prairie River Camp by Bricelyn.

Q: What is your dream job?

A: I would like to be a physician.

Q: What is your favorite TV show?

A: “America’s Got Talent.”

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Mashed potatoes and gravy.

Q: What is an interesting fact about you?

A: I used to race motocross from age 3 to 15, and when I was doing that I broke four bones in my leg.
