Robert Perrault, 88, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Robert N. Perreault of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Timothy T. Reker and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea area veterans organizations.
Robert died on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society in Albert Lea. He was 88 years of age.
Robert was born Dec. 18, 1924, in Red Lake Falls, the son of Albert and Elodia (Laundry) Perreault.

He attended public school in Red Lake Falls. Robert served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged. After serving in the Navy, he attended trade school in Chicago, Ill.
He married Betty Swanson on May 20, 1950, in Grand Forks, N.D. Together they moved to Albert Lea in 1956 where he worked as an appliance repairman for Gordon Electric and then Sears and Roebuck Company. He also worked on his own for 10 years after retiring from Sears.
Robert was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and served Meals on the Go. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, traveling to Texas where he would spend four months at a time and had a special love for square dancing. He was always there to help others.
Robert is survived by his wife, Betty, of Albert Lea; children Diane and her husband, Marvin Nygaard, of Grand Rapids, Steven Perreault of San Diego, Calif., Dale Perreault of Fridley, Donald and his wife, Pamela, Perreault of Seattle, Wash., and Barbara and her husband, Wally, Bergseth of Burnsville; grandchildren, James (Tiffany) Van Riper, Thomas Van Riper, Tina (Jeremie) Lutteke, April (Joe) Hyde, Rebecca Nygaard, Zachary Perreault, Arielle Perreault and Nathan Bergseth; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Sister Gabriel Perreault of Stillwater, Cecelia Gingras of North Carolina and Florence Moen of Baudette.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George, Walliace and Omer; sisters, Stella Derosier, Rose Beaudoin, Mae Lallier, Doris Derosier and Mona Klooz; and two siblings in infancy.
