Ruth Ann Colvin, 79, of Wells, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at Parkview Care Center in Wells. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. The Rev. Kathy Fullarton will officiate and the interment will be in Freeborn Cemetery, Freeborn. Please see www.brussheitner.com to leave online condolences. Ruth Ann was born Oct. 24, 1933, the daughter of Truman and Grace (Crowell) Shellen in Wells. Ruth grew up in Wells and graduated from Wells High School. In September of 1951, she was united in marriage to Cortelyou “Cordy” J. Colvin in Wells and to this union seven children were born. She spent many years raising their children and farming with her husband in the Freeborn area. After moving to Arizona, Ruth worked at Basha’s Deli as deli manager. She worked with this company until she moved back to her hometown of Wells in 2008. In May of 2010, she was united in marriage to Bob Schultz in Wells. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She loved to sew, cook, golf, walk and read. She loved watching her children and her grandchildren grow. She loved God, family and life.

Ruth is survived by her husband Bob Schultz of Wells; five children: Bruce Colvin of Houston, Texas, David of Albert Lea, Warren of Mesa, Ariz., Mary (Dwight) Schmitt of Minot, N.D., Amy (Craig) Anderson of Wells; 14 wonderful grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one on the way; five step-children: Steve (Julie) Schultz of Sauk Rapids, Mike (Tami) Schultz of Lakeville, Sandy (Pat) Sheedy of Faribault, Laurie (Tim) Schrader of Bloomington, Terry (Beth) Schultz of Faribault; three sisters-in-law: Erma Colvin of Albert Lea, Janice Parriott of Wells, Nancy Pierce of Florida; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Pearl Courrier, Alice Niebuhr, Arlene Whitcomb, Truman “Mike” Shellen; husband Cordy, and two daughters: Peggy and Susan.
