Funeral services for Sharon M. Weiss, 75, of Glenville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. The Rev. Jim Rushton will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Sharon died on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at her home.

Sharon Weiss was born on Dec. 5, 1937, to Dale and Viola (Gorman) Deyo in Lyle. Sharon was raised in the Austin area and on June 25, 1960, she was united in marriage to Wayne Weiss at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville. She was the past auxiliary president of the Eagles where she was a member for more than 40 years. Sharon enjoyed reading books by Nora Roberts, fishing, camping, bird watching, going to rummage sales, music and singing. She also enjoyed painting ceramics and making butterscotch cookies, pudding dessert and her Christmas fudge, all of which her grandchildren cherished. Sharon was a member of First Lutheran Church in Glenville.

Survivors include her daughter, Katherine (Odean) Nelson; sons, Wayne “Butch” Monson and Keith (Wendy) Weiss; grandchildren, Benjamin (Ashley) Nelson, Christopher (Susan) Nelson, Stephanie (Tad) Fair, Kelly Jo Nelson, Jennifer Monson (Tom Falk), Valerie Monson, Sheila Monson, Amanda Weiss and her fiancé, Andrew Irvine, and Ethan Weiss; great-grandchildren, Jesse, Victoria, Sandra, Christian, Lorie and Emily; great-great-granddaughter, Bailey; sisters, Darlene James and Pam (Dan) Graae; sister-in-law, Frances Nelson; and many nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; brother, David Deyo; sister and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Ray Rasmusson and Carl “Joe” Nelson; and great-granddaughter, Alexi Monson.
