Kristi Kenis, left, competed in the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon on Oct. 6 in overcast conditions with Amber Jensen. Both runners are from Albert Lea. Jensen graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1993, and Kenis followed in 1994. Kenis, a former cross country and track and field athlete for the Tigers, finished the 26.2-mile course in 4:26.23. The race was Kenis’ first marathon, and she wants to compete again with a faster time, she said. While training for the race, the duo ran up to 18 miles a day. — Submitted
