PARK RAPIDS — A duck hunting accident in northern Minnesota has taken the life of a young newlywed.

Twenty-three-year-old Adam Poole and a friend were hunting in a boat on a channel in Hubbard County over the weekend. Sheriff’s officials said both stood up in the boat at the same time to shoot some ducks. Poole’s hunting partner lost his balance. His shotgun discharged and Poole was shot in the head.

First responders rushed to the remote location in Crow Wind Lake Township by boat, but Poole died of his injuries before they arrived.
