Robert Tewes will be the speaker for the Dorothy Godtland Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Albert Lea Art Center. He will present on “The Art of the Beginner Gourmet.” The lecture is free and open to the public.

Tewes, a published author and composer, discovered the joys of cooking during his college years and courtship with his now wife of 25 years, Patricia. In May 2001, they opened Crescendo Exquisite Food & Fine Wines in downtown Albert Lea. They are the proud parents of three daughters, Ashley, Camilee and Emma. Tewes is the music coordinator and organist for Grace Lutheran Church in Albert Lea.

The “Art & Faith Exhibit” that is currently on display at the Albert Lea Art Center has been extended to Oct. 25. The exhibit is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Tuesday through Friday.
