Ruby Marie Roberts, 76, of Wells, died on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, with a 5 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. The Rev. Jason Kern will officiate and interment will be in St. Casimir Cemetery in Wells. Please see www.brussheitner.com to leave online condolences. Ruby Marie Roberts was born Aug. 30, 1937, the daughter of Herman A. and Violet E. (Thomas) Wehmeyer in Osceola County, Iowa. Ruby was a graduate of Storden High School, the class of 1956. On Sept. 9, 1957, Ruby was united in marriage to Jack Jr. Roberts in Lakefield. Ruby had worked for Swift-Eckrich in Wells for more than 35 years. Ruby loved camping and enjoyed being outdoors. She and Jack liked to fish in northern Minnesota on their boat. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, along with cooking and baking. Quilting, sewing and working crossword puzzles were other favorites. Ruby was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells.

Ruby is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jack Roberts, of Wells; three children, Michael (Darla) Roberts of Lake Mills, Deb (Dan) Warmka of Easton and Sue (Tom) VanHorn of Wells; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five siblings, Fern (Chuck) Schneider of Crystal, Faye (Orville) Berkness of Windom, Roger Wehmeyer of Phoenix, Ariz., Ralph (Geri) Wehmeyer of Lakefield and Dale (JoAnn) Wehmeyer of Westbrook; along with many nieces and nephews and their families.
