Betty Morgan, 84, Austin

Betty R. Morgan, 84, of Austin died on Saturday night, Nov. 23, 2013, at Our House Assisted Living in Austin. She was born, April 17, 1929, in Faribault, the daughter of Lester and Florence (Hand) Payne. She attended school in Faribault, graduating from Faribault High School. On April 9, 1949, she was united in marriage to Delmar R. “Blackie” Morgan at Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams. Betty worked her entire life as a waitress, caretaker and cashier. While living in Austin, she worked for 12 years at the Oak Leaf and for several years at Jim’s Super Value. Delmar died on June 16, 2000. Betty enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, bowling, baking, playing cards, bingo, cross stitching and watching the Twins play. She moved to Our House in November of 2011.

Survivors include her children Susan (Greg) McAllister of Minnetonka, Diane (Donald) Daily of Austin, Pam Burzinski of Brownsdale, Debra (Steve) Kneeskern of Austin, Gary (Mary) Morgan of Gilbert and Sheila (Gary) Van Osdel of Austin; 12 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delmar Morgan; a daughter, Laura Bellin; a grandson, Karl Kneeskern; one brother; and five sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Worlein Funeral Home chapel in Austin with the Rev. Glenn Monson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Worlein Funeral Home prior to the service. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
