Doppelhammer family thanks supporters

I would like to give my most sincere thanks to those of you that worked at or donated to the cancer benefit held on my behalf. Your contributions helped make the benefit an overwhelmingly huge success. Once again, it was brought to light what an awesome and caring community we live in. An individual never knows how many lives they have touched until something like this transpires. A big thank you to Kathy Phillips for organizing the benefit and for all the effort, time and work she put into it. Also, thank you to the volunteers in the kitchen and dining room and those who helped set up and take down after the benefit. Everyone operated as a team and all were absolutely tremendous! I am so grateful and feel blessed to have so many family, friends and neighbors that think of and care so much for me that they took time from their busy lives and gave many food and cash donations to help me in my time of need.

I would like to give a special thanks to the Eagles Club No. 2258 for letting us use their facilities to hold the event. Also, thank you for the donations from Plaza Morena for the enchiladas, Mrs. Gerry’s for the potato salad, Lonnie and Destiny Smith and family for the ground beef and Brian Anderson of Brownberry Bread for the donation of buns. In addition, I want to thank my friends and co-workers from Agilis and the friends and co-workers of my sister, Stacy, who donated hot dishes, salads and desserts. Furthermore, thank you to the Studebakers for providing music. Lastly, but certainly not least, thank you to those who stepped forward when the food ran out including Kelly Anderson, Erbert & Gerbert’s, Lonnie Smith, Hy-Vee, Church Offset and Geneva Ausen and Donna Warner. Your help and contributions on such short notice were a life saver! I also want to thank Thrivent for their donation.

The money raised will help me in the upcoming time I will be unable to work as I face continued treatments of chemotherapy, surgery and radiation.

I cannot say thank you or express my gratitude to everyone enough. I am forever grateful and feel so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people both in the community and in my life.
