Gary resided at Crest Home in Albert Lea for a short time before moving to Woodvale in Albert Lea and then to a Woodvale home in Albert Lea. He lived almost 20 years at Our Homes South in Owatonna where he had three wonderful housemates and staff that cared for him. He was fortunate to find a new home last April in Kasson. Although his health was declining, he still touched the hearts of all who worked there. Gary was truly blessed to have such caring people in his life.

He enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He loved to go fishing at the cabin, watch movies and the Twins and Vikings and read the paper. Going out to eat was also a favorite outing. He looked forward to his birthday and Christmas every year. He had a special gift of remembering people’s birthdays.

Gary is survived by his three sisters Carol (Don) Cravath of Plainview, Barb Roscoe of Nederland, Colo., and Julie (Bill) Ladwig of Hartland; nephews Brett Cravath, Brad (Julie) Cravath, Travis (Katie) Ladwig and Nate (Angela) Ladwig; niece, Jill Ladwig, and fiancé Kyle Courtney; great-nephews Liam and Henry Ladwig; cousins Trink (Lee) Van Guilder, Bebe (John) Ruud, John (Sandy) Roscoe and Bob (Linda) Roscoe; a number of other out-of-state cousins; and his baptismal sponsor, Virginia Hermanson.

His parents preceded him in death.
