Albert Lea firefighter Chris Harveaux rescues Lt. Al Schallock during an ice and water rescue training Tuesday near the Hatch Bridge. Fire Capt. Lee DeVries estimated the ice was about 2 inches thick. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources recommends people stay off of ice 2 inches or thinner.
