I see your article about the United Way’s shortfall. I had on my desk a recent letter from them thanking me for my continued support and was checking our bank statement because I did not recall getting any requests for donations this year. I now find that we did not receive or send any funds to them. Please, if you feel the intended beneficaries are deserving, send a check now, as we are now doing. Help them even if they have not helped themselves.
