LUCAN — The names of the two children killed in a farmhouse fire in southwestern Minnesota this week have been released.
The family identifies the victims as 7-year-old Hazel and 4-year-old Isaiah Thooft.
The two were unaccounted for after the fire Wednesday. One of the children’s bodies was found Wednesday, the other a day later.
Authorities say the two-story, single-family farmhouse in Lucan was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. The cause is still under investigation.
The United Way of Southwest Minnesota will serve as a Marshall drop-off location for donations to benefit the Thooft family.
A fund has been set up at First Independent Bank of Lucan. Donations can also be made at other area First Independent Bank locations.
