Mike especially loved spending time in nature, camping under the stars, taking pictures, sailing, skiing in the mountains and hiking. In 2001, Mike moved back to Northwood where he was able to spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed helping Gary Sola with the harvest every fall.  Although he never had any children of his own, he always took great joy in his many nieces and nephews, talking and laughing with them and giving advice whenever they would ask. They were all proud to call him Uncle Mike.

Michael is survived by brothers John Foss and wife, Thelma, (Jacobson) Foss of Albert Lea and Paul Foss and wife, Genie, (Garnas) Foss of Northwood; sister-in-law, Crystal (Gilbertson) Foss Eack of Menominee, Mich.; many nieces and nephews; and good friends Gary and Marcia Sola.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Harlon and Ione (Tue) Foss; sister, Joanne (Foss) Thompson; brothers Larry Foss, Bernard Foss and Allen Foss; sister-in-law, Mary (Allison) Foss; and brother-in-law, Roger Thompson.
