EAGAN — A Twin Cities area sportswear company will have a hand in trying to keep NFL players warm during Sunday’s Super Bowl.

WSI Sports in Eagan makes cold weather undergarments for athletes by using a fiber that expands and heats up when it comes in contact with skin. Joel Wiens launched the company 24 years ago with money he got from his high school graduation. Wiens said he hit the big time when the San Francisco 49ers used his gear for a frigid January playoff game at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin.
