The Albert Lea varsity dance team took third place overall Jan. 18 at the Big Nine Conference Championships in Faribault. The team took third place in the jazz and high-kick categories. It was the team’s highest Big Nine Conference jazz category placement of all time. Angie Schmitt and Christian Schmidt were All-Conference, and Katelyn Hendrickson and Taylor Martinez were All-Conference honorable mention.
