Albert Lea Mayor Vern Rasmussen Jr. and City Manager Chad Adams delivered a State of the City address last week.

The mayor and city manager recounted highlights of the past year, including the completion of the Broadway streetscape project, the implementation of new financial management software and continuing efforts to partner with the community on projects.

The mayor and city manager also discussed goals and projects for 2014 as well as the budget and long-term financial planning.

The State of the City address will air on Albert Lea’s government access channel, on Charter Communications channel 16, at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings and at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday mornings immediately following the City Council meeting. It is also available on the city’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/cityofalbertlea.
